Four people were wounded in an accident when a woman drove into a restaurant in Sugar Land.
The police report that a little after 2pm a woman driving a car slammed into a Pei Wei restaurant located on Kensington at Highway 6. Four people were injured. Two of which were transported to a hospital in the area.
Two large glass windows were shattered.
The driver remained at the location. She was not wounded. More information regarding the source of the incident are to be determined.
A Houston police was stuck in her patrol car throughout the night after a crash on the Gulf Freeway.
Investigators report that the officer was traveling on the service road when she was struck by a car exiting the freeway near Wynbrook. The officer radioed for assistance, and other officer were able to help her out of the patrol car. The officer and a passenger in the other car were transported to the hospital to be checked out.
The driver of the second car was cited for an unsafe lane change.
Houston police report that a woman was killed in an accident after her husband accidentally ran her into their garage with the car.
The accident took place on Saturday afternoon at the couple’s home located in the far southeast Houston neighborhood of Clear Lake.
Police Sgt. J.K. Richard reports that the two were around the age of 60 and were married for over 30 years. He reported to the Houston Chronicle that they were pulling into their driveway when they opened their garage door by remote control. The dog darted out, and the wife was taking the dog back into the garage as her husband was pulling up. Tragically, the man’s foot slid off the brake and onto the accelerator, forcing his wife a refrigerator before driving through the back wall of the garage.
No identities have been made public.
A woman was hospitalized after an accident in which she ran her car into a guard-wall on the Southwest Freeway at Westpark.
Police report that something forced the victim to lose control of her car, which then rolled over after it slammed into the wall. There were no other vehicles partaking in the incident.
The accident took place early this morning and still being looked into by officials.
Four people are hospitalized following a high-speed accident on Highway 290 in north Houston.
At about 3:30am police reported that the driver of a red car was traveling at about 90 miles per hour along 290 near Fairbanks. The driver slammed into the back end of a cargo van which resulted in the wounding of each individual in the vehicle.
The driver and two passengers are reported to be in critical condition and a third passenger was seriously wounded. No one in the van was injured.
Police are investigating to find if alcohol was involved.
Crews on Houston’s south side are working to remove debris from a crash involving a flipped over 18-wheeler off a narrow stretch of road.
The big rig flipped over a little after 1am on East Anderson Road near Merida. The driver was attempting to make a turn, when the rig’s back wheels got stuck in a ditch. The truck then toppled onto its side. A fire hydrant made a hole in a fuel tank, but none of the chloride the truck was transporting poured out.
The debris is to be removed in a matter of hours.
A teen saved another teen who was submerged in a lake after a serious crash by Richmond last night.
The accident took place at about 6:30pm Thursday in the Westheimer Lakes neighborhood in Fort Bend County. DPS troopers inform that a teenage pizza delivery guy lost control of his car and continued into the body of water. Some witnesses attempted to go in the water and assist the man the the cold water stopped them.
Another teenager passing by, who happens to be a co-worker of the driver, noticed what had occurred and went in to save his friend. Both teens are employees at the Pizza Hut located on South Mason Road in Katy.
Witnesses report that it was frightening to see the incident.
“We heard some big sound and we got on the curve and saw the car floating,” stated an eyewitness.
“I saw that there was a car in the water and there was people trying to help him out, but nobody would go into the water because it was too cold. I got out of my car and tried to go and save him,” reported rescuer John Clark. “Eventually, we got him out of the water and they started trying to give him CPR and that’s when the ambulance showed up.”
Clark reported that he just helped the teen as he would hope someone would do the same for him.
Divers eventually pulled the car out of the lake at about 10pm.
The driver has been said to be Jonathan Kokel, 19. He is reported to be in critical condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Katy.
A fatal accident took place close to downtown early this morning.
The crash took place on Houston Avenue and Interstate 45. Police report that the driver of pickup drove onto the exit ramp in the wrong direction and ran right into a concrete divider. The driver was killed on the spot.
The medical examiner is testing the victim to find out if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
An officer lived through a serious collision in which he was struck by a drunk driver.
The accident took place on the East Loop near Clinton in southeast Houston. Police inform that the officer was standing outside of his patrol car and working to clear up a previous accident. At that moment, the driver of a pickup ran into the back of the officer’s car. The rear end of the patrol car was completely crushed.
Police report that the driver did not pass a DWI test and was taken into custody at the scene.
Police are convinced that weather was a key factor in a collision in southeast Houston overnight.
The incident took place by Bay Area Boulevard at Saturn. Police report that two cars collided into one another, pinning one man within his car. Firefighters arrived to extricate the man. He was then taken by helicopter to the hospital.
The other driver was not seriously injured. According to investigators, the wet and slippery roads were a cause of the accident.
